Frequently Asked Questions: Pet Stays
Are additional pet fees required?

Can my dog be left alone at the property?

Which South Coast beaches allow dogs?
Washerwomans Beach (Bendalong), the signed area of Seven Mile Beach (Shoalhaven Heads), and Collers Beach (near Ulladulla) have off-leash areas. Check council signs before letting your dog off the lead.

PROPERTY HELP & SUPPORT MANUAL
Find practical guidance for check-in and check-out, reporting problems, Wi-Fi, hot water, heating and cooling, BBQ use and property access.
Need urgent on-site assistance?
For an urgent property issue, use the emergency contact details supplied with your booking. For routine assistance, review the quick-reference sections below or contact the South Coast Holidays team.
Wi-Fi & Smart TV
Your Wi-Fi name and password are in the property welcome guide. Use the Smart TV instructions there to connect your streaming apps.
If Wi-Fi stops working
If the modem is in the living room, switch it off for 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Allow 3–5 minutes for the connection lights to settle. If it still does not work, call guest support.
Hot Water Systems
After several showers, the hot water tank may need time to heat up again.
If your home has a booster
If the welcome guide mentions a 60-minute hot water booster, press the labelled button once in the laundry cupboard. Allow time for the water to heat. If you cannot find it, contact guest support.
Air Conditioning & Heating
Use the heating or air-conditioning remote to set a comfortable temperature. Keep doors and windows closed while it is running.
Suggested temperatures
Summer cooling: 22–24°C. Winter heating: 20–21°C. Turn off air-conditioning and heating when you head out for the day.
BBQ & Gas Safety
Use the barbecue only where provided and follow the appliance instructions. If the gas bottle runs out, contact the office for a refill voucher. After hours, keep your refill receipt to request reimbursement.
Safety and check-out
If you suspect a gas leak, stop using the appliance, move away and contact emergency services or property support as appropriate. Clean the BBQ and do not leave its gas bottle empty on departure. An AUD 55 (including GST) cleaning fee applies if the BBQ is left uncleaned.
Keys, Locks & Access
Your arrival message explains how to use the property key, lockbox or smart lock. Keep the entry details handy, and lock the property whenever you leave and when checking out.
Locked out or lost your keys?
Call South Coast Holidays on (02) 4210 7620 with your property and booking details. A minimum AUD 100 call-out fee applies. If no agent is available after hours, you may need to arrange and pay for a locksmith directly, without reimbursement. Do not force the lock.
Appliances & Electrical Safety
If an appliance stops working or part of the house loses power, check the instructions in your property welcome guide.
If a safety switch has tripped
The switchboard may be in a laundry or hallway cupboard. Only reset a clearly labelled tripped switch once if the area is dry and safe. If it trips again, or you see damage, stop and call guest support.
Arrival & Departure Times
Standard check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am. Early check-in or late check-out requires prior approval from South Coast Holidays.
Late check-out fee
An AUD 50 fee applies if you leave after 10:00 am without an approved late check-out. Contact the team in advance if you need to request different times.
Reporting Issues & Damage
Report any concerns identified on arrival to South Coast Holidays within 12 hours of arrival. Report subsequent breakages, damage, lost keys or issues requiring repairs immediately.
Help us resolve issues promptly
Prompt reporting allows the team to investigate and arrange repairs. Delayed reporting may limit or prevent entitlement to compensation under the booking terms. For urgent issues, use the emergency contact details provided with your booking.
COUNCIL WASTE & RECYCLING GUIDE
Keep the South Coast clean by sorting rubbish correctly during your stay. Bin services differ between Kiama and Shoalhaven, and not every holiday home has the same bins. Always follow the labels, collection schedule and instructions provided at your property.
Red Lid Bin
General wasteUse the red-lid bin for non-recyclable household rubbish, such as soft plastics, non-recyclable packaging and food scraps where a separate food-organics service is not available. In Shoalhaven, food scraps go in the red-lid bin.
Before disposal
Bag general rubbish securely and close the lid. Never place batteries, chemicals, electronic waste or other hazardous items in household bins.
Yellow Lid Bin
RecyclingUse the yellow-lid bin for accepted recyclables, including empty glass bottles and jars, cans, recyclable hard-plastic containers, clean paper and cardboard.
Keep recycling clean
Empty containers, flatten cardboard and place recyclables loose in the bin, not inside plastic bags. Keep food scraps, soft plastics and heavily food-soiled packaging out.
Green Lid Bin
Food & garden organicsEligible urban properties in Kiama may have a green-lid FOGO bin for food scraps, fruit and vegetable peelings, meat and seafood scraps, and accepted garden waste. Shoalhaven does not currently provide a standard household green-lid FOGO collection service.
Check before disposal
Only use a green-lid bin if your property provides one for this purpose. Follow its instructions and never put ordinary plastic bags, compostable packaging or unapproved liners in it.
Kerbside Collection & Property Tips
Collection Schedule
Check your property’s welcome guide or bin notice for collection days. If your stay includes a scheduled bin night, put the required bins out as instructed.
Bin Positioning
Place bins at the designated kerbside collection point where instructed, without blocking footpaths, driveways or vehicle access.
Food & Seafood Scraps
At Kiama properties with a green FOGO service, place accepted food and seafood scraps in that bin. At Shoalhaven properties, or where no FOGO service is provided, use the red-lid bin. Keep all bin lids closed to prevent odours and pests.
Check-out Routine
Place all rubbish in the appropriate outdoor bins, separate recyclables and follow the property departure checklist. Put bins out for scheduled collection as instructed, and leave the property reasonably clean and tidy.
Excess rubbish disposal may incur AUD 88 per hour (including GST), plus tip fees. If a property is left excessively untidy, additional cleaning is charged at AUD 88 per hour (including GST), as set out in the Terms & Conditions.
STAY GUIDELINES & HOUSE RULES
Simple expectations for a safe and considerate South Coast stay. Your property’s booking conditions and welcome guide remain the authoritative source for individual house rules.

Keep noise at a reasonable level at all times, particularly between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. Loud music, shouting and behaviour that disturbs neighbours are not permitted.
Quiet hours: 10:00 pm – 8:00 am
Address complaints immediately. Serious or repeated breaches may result in booking termination or eviction. A call-out fee of AUD 200 may apply if management, security or police attend in response to a substantiated complaint.
Holiday Accommodation Only
Properties are provided for holiday accommodation only. Parties or events are not included in the standard booking terms and must not be assumed to be permitted.
Follow booking conditions
Do not organise gatherings that breach occupancy limits, booking conditions or neighbours’ quiet enjoyment. Extra guests are not permitted.
Follow Declared Occupancy Limits
The number of people occupying the property must not exceed its advertised occupancy limit. Extra guests are not permitted.
Occupancy breaches
Breaching the occupancy limit may result in additional charges and eviction, including for guests named on the booking, as stated in the Terms & Conditions.
Dedicated Parking & Access
Respect neighbouring driveways, shared pathways and local parking restrictions.
Parking guidance
Use only designated parking spaces shown in the listing or arrival information.
Property Care & Energy Use
Look after the property as you would your own home and be mindful of the local coastal environment. Electric vehicle charging is not permitted at South Coast Holidays properties; fees may apply for breaches of this condition.
A little care goes a long way
Switch off unnecessary lights and cooling, report leaks promptly and use bins correctly.
Pet Etiquette & Yard Care
Pets are allowed only at pet-friendly properties or with written approval. Dogs must remain outdoors unless indoor access is expressly approved in writing.
Pet-friendly stays
Clean up dog droppings from the garden and yard, and follow the property’s pet conditions throughout the stay.
No Smoking Indoors
All South Coast Holidays properties are smoke-free inside. Do not smoke indoors or discard cigarette butts in garden beds.
Additional cleaning charges
Indoor smoking may incur deodorising costs of AUD 88 per hour (including GST), plus required products. Discarded cigarette butts in garden beds may also attract a charge.
No Caravans or Tents
Caravans and tents are strictly not permitted on the property under the Terms & Conditions.
Use the booked accommodation
All guests must stay within the property’s advertised occupancy limit and comply with the booking conditions.
Keep Furniture in Place
Do not move furniture around the property. Leave furniture in its original position when checking out.
Departure expectations
A fee may apply if furniture is not returned to its original position. Leave the property reasonably clean and tidy and follow the departure checklist.
